The Horizon Europe ScaleDem Workshop, held on 27 March 2026 in Florence and hosted by the European University Institute School of Transnational Governance (part of the European University Institute), brought together project partners for a full day of collaborative work under the guidance of Ulrike Liebert and Kalypso Nicolaïdis.
Participants shared emerging research findings on the four dimensions of scaling democratic innovations, critically reviewed the analytical framework for building a grounded theory of scaling, and reflected on the translation of these insights into a practical Scaling Compass—designed to support practitioners, policymakers, and civil society actors across Europe.
